Race teams change oil constantly, often every session or every event, so an oil formulated for maximum power output and film strength at extreme temperatures doesn’t need the acid-neutralizing reserve to last 25,000 miles. Can I use Motul 300V in my daily driver?
You can, but it’s not designed for it. Motul doesn’t publish an extended drain interval for 300V Competition because it’s built for track and race-day use, where oil is changed far more often than a typical daily driver’s schedule. For a daily driver, an oil designed around a long road interval, like AMSOIL Signature Series, will generally cost less over a year of ownership.
Is a lower TBN a sign of a worse oil?
